FIBERWEB 210
Underslab Vapor Barrier
DESCRIPTION
An inert, lightweight, flexible fiberglass reinforced polyester film membrane. With its reinforced construction,
FIBERWEB 210 is a strong and highly efficient vapor barrier (MVT rate .0007) which resists alkalis and caustics
found in concrete. It is virtually impervious to degradation under most conditions. Its strength and durability make it
ideal tor underslab vapor barrier applications.
FIBERWEB 210 TAPE:
A polyethylene tape with a rubberized asphalt based adhesive used to seal all laps and seams.
Product Composition:
FIBERWEB 210 is a combination of a black polyester film reinforced with fiberglass scrim and vinyl film; average
thickness is 8 mils. The adhesive used in the lamination process is virtually indestructible resulting in extra high
resistance to delamination.
TECHNICAL DATA
"Mylar" polyester film is made from polyethylene terephthalate, the polymer formed by the condensation reaction
of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. Its unusual balance of properties enables it to serve specific engineering
functions as a physical barrier in protective coatings and as a structural, thermal and electrical barrier. Polyester
film contains no plasticizers and therefore does not become brittle with age at its normal operating conditions.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare subbase of slabs on grade by leveling and compacting to provide a smooth surface. Apply FIBERWEB
210 over the full surface of the subbase. Lap joints a minimum of 6 inches and tape with the FIBERWEB 210
Tape. Carefully place reinforcing over vapor barrier using reinforcing chairs with flat bases to support the
reinforcing.
