The Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project is a joint venture by the New York City Department of City Planning and Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Ruskin Splitter silencers, CD80AF2 and XFA Fan silencers were engineered specifically for this project. Although the product model names are familiar the application was quite unique.
The Splitter silencers were constructed for 482 F/250 C degree for 1 hour using 10 ga galvanized exterior casings, 4 inch panel inserts and heavy structural angle steel reinforcement. One of the larger splitter assemblies measures 234鈥 x 87鈥 x 144鈥 and weighing 25,490lbs after fully assembled. All splitters supplied are designed to be shipped knocked down for field assembly.
Ruskin model CD80AF2 built as standard construction other than using aluminized steel for the higher temperature application. Each damper was supplied with square round transitions to be fitted up to steel I beams and shipped separately to be fire proofed prior to shipping the dampers.
Ruskin Sound Control also supplied model XFA for fan discharge installation fan discharge. Constructed from 18 gage galvanized shells using 2 x 2 x 10ga square tube reinforcement. Sizes varied from 78鈥 to 96鈥 inside diameter.
