Project: Food Lion Customer Support Center, Salisbury, North Carolina
Architect: Little Diversified Architectural Consulting
LEED: Silver Certification
Founded in 1957, Food Lion is now one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States, with stores throughout 11 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states.
The Customer Support Center was constructed in an old warehouse. It provides office space, a cafeteria, and a 600-seat auditorium. It is located on the headquarters campus of the 1,287 supermarket chain covering the southeast and mid-Atlantic states. The building design reduces energy loss up to 50 percent and saves up to 70 percent of typical water consumption.
