Windmark is a striking chair and table collection for high-profile public/private spaces designed by award-winning architect Margaret McCurry. McCurry draws inspiration from architecture, landscape, iconic furniture, history and poetry. She explains, "Like my architecture, I wanted this furniture to be contemporary with links to the past."
Designed by award-winning architect Margaret McCurry, Windmark is a perfect solution for defined spaces with special panache: resorts, outdoor restaurants, museum plazas, high-end residential settings, and roof top terraces. "I wanted to strike an elegant note for the outdoors" says Margaret. Its forms are derived by bending and folding material in inventive ways, a few deft strokes creating shapes that are simple but arrestingly new.
Designer Margaret McCurry started with steel side frames that recall platform swings. Her inspiration for the seating was a picket fence around a Victorian era cottage and reflections of forms in the outdoor environments. In the Lakeside bench, as in her architecture, the linkage is artfully transformed so, as she puts it, "the history and memory are there, but they're jogged a bit."
Designed by Margaret McCurry, FAIA, ASID, IIDA.
