Manufacturing lifts in China improves the bottom line for the U.S. lift company but what does it do to the U.S. economy and to American jobs? It exports jobs and hurts our economy yet this is the growing trend with many U.S. based lift companies.
Instead, Stertil-Koni is investing in America with a new 14,000 square foot expansion to our production facility in Streator, Illinois. The expansion will be approximately 14,000 Sq Ft - 10,000 in the Production Facility and a 4,000 ft sales, service and installation Training Center (see attached pictures). While still in the planning stages, this total $1 million addition will likely feature an enhanced painting system. The Training Facility will be two story. First floor set up for hands on Equipment Training for both service and installation. The Pit being provided will allow for various models of in-ground Lifts to be physically installed. This room will also be suitable for various surface mounted models. Second Floor of the Training Facility will be classroom with state of the art AV equipment including projectors and display monitors. Sound and Video will be integrated into both floors. We will be increasing American jobs by about 25% over the existing workforce in Streator. The new TRAINING AND PRODUCTION facility will open in April, 2011. We now manufacture the following lifts at our Streator location: 18,000 lb. Mobiles (wired as well as wireless)SKYLIFTS (all models)
